Navigating the Holidays
Nov 27, 2023This time of year can cause a lot of stress for business owners.
Sometimes it’s slow, a lot of cancellations…
Sometimes, people have the best intentions of getting started, but then life happens…
You get frustrated, bummed out, and ultimately try to push harder, only to realize your stress level is now through the roof.
But we want you to do the opposite.
Look, I get it… the internet is telling you “no days off” and hustle/grind your face into oblivion if you want to make it... But you’re going to be fine.
That’s right, YOU’RE GOING TO BE FINE!
Next week, your business will still exist, and your clients or potential clients will come back from their time away from work recharged as well, and I encourage you to do the same.
As a reformed “high achieving work alcoholic,” I used to have a really hard time disconnecting from work over holiday periods. I felt like the more accessible I was, the better job I was doing - constant pursuit of “over delivering.”
But instead, I actually ended up disconnected from my loved ones. I paid more attention to my phone and notifications than the time we were spending together. And now that I have total control over my schedule, I’ve taken back that power and won’t allow that for myself and make sure my team is set up to experience the downtime the same way.
So if you’re feeling the itch to work, it might be easy to give in… but I challenge you to chill out. Use this time to recharge, just like you’d recommend to your clients. And enjoy this time of year.
Remember, this is your business, this is your life - time to figure out the way you want to live it.
